Overview
Aloe nugalensis is known from northeastern Somalia, where the protologue records it on a gypsum hill near Xalin in the Nugaal Region. It has a simple stem, pale glaucous-green unspotted leaves, and a drooping inflorescence with nodding orange-red flowers. [1, 2]

Leaves and exudate
Leaves are densely and spirally arranged at the top of the stem, narrowly lanceolate, pale glaucous green and unspotted. Fresh exudate is yellowish. [2]
Inflorescence and flowers
The inflorescence is drooping, while the racemes are ascending. Flowers are nodding, with a cylindrical orange-red perianth whose tips are darker. [2]
Distribution
Native to Somalia. At publication the species was known only from the type locality on a gypsum hill near Xalin in the Nugaal Region of northeastern Somalia. [1, 2]
