Overview

Aloe officinalis Forssk. is an accepted species native to Saudi Arabia and Yemen. It is a succulent perennial that grows primarily in desert or dry shrubland. [1, 2]

Distribution

The species is native to the southwestern Arabian Peninsula, including Saudi Arabia and Yemen. [1, 2]

Etymology

The epithet officinalis refers to medicinal use and derives from Latin officinalis (used medicinally). [3]
